Whether that will directly translate/migrate to the M9 or R10 is yet to be seen. The sensor is issue #1... and if Leica could afford a custom sensor for the R10 and / or M9, then it is possible that what is learned in the larger sensor can be capitalized on the smaller ones.... But a custom sensor IC is a pretty heavy expense..... And 2 IC's would make that even worse.... It might not happen. Next is the on-board firmware..... Where it is quite achievable to migrate knowledge forward. Third is the sensor size..... If Leica produces another non 24x36 sensor for the M series, it will be a disaster. If they try that for the R series, or offer a different ( non traditional R) incompatible ( adapters don't work) lens mount , say goodbye. They are not a stupid company..... But marketing is not their strong suit. Frank Filippone red735i@earthlink.net I think that the new sensor technology and image processor of the S2 will be the basis of future R& M sensors.
