What would it have cost if the repair were NOT to be covered by the warranty? Does anyone have an idea ( other than a lot!)? I recently sent in my M8 and 21 Elmarit Asph lens for some repair work. The M8 had the turn on going directly to sleep mode problem with a sticky frame selector lever. The 21 did not trigger the correct frame lines and therefore did not record lens data into the images. Both were sent to Leica NJ on Jan 9 and arrived there on Jan 12. Well today my M8 returned home, the estimated repair time completion was 3/18. The repair was completed in only 2.5 weeks. This has been typical of repair times when I have sent stuff to them before. Now if my 21mm lens will also return soon, they estimate was also 3/18 for it, seems a bit long for a mount replacement. By the way the M8 is now back to perfect working order.
