Gene.... Cal's told me that the lenses they had that were coded, were done
as a factory retrofit early in the program.

( I think Gene has a lens from Cal's Cameras in Costa Mesa CA>....)

The 21 Elmarit Asph I bought new last July has the 6 bit code, and it is the
correct code. However the lens does not imprint the data as it does not
bring up the correct frame lines. If I manually select the frame lines, it
then records the data in the file. The lens mount is incorrect, according to
the Leica reps I talked to at Photokina, so it is now in NJ to have the
mount replaced with the correct part.
