I would like this option. Yes, it would require fiddling with menus.

If the setting would go back to the standard lens sensing with IR 
filter each time a lens were removed, that would at least bring it 
back to neutral ground, so that the damage would be relatively minor 
and predictable. I could live with that, and I think it would be an 
improvement.
