I've worked with those shooting retail fashion with a Hassy ELM.
A geared tripod head is something I loved using.

A thing hanging of a stand like that is nice as long as its rock solid.

But by design is asking to vibrate. Have me a rock solid Gitzo tripod
anyday. Metal even if its going to be for sheet film.
