How does that tie in with body stabilisation systems??? I'm no expert on dSLRs. Some would say no expert on pretty much anything!! I'll send you a screen shot or two offlist on the spot removal in ACR. Cheers Geoff http://www.pbase.com/hoppyman/e http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/gh/ Pick up your camera and make the best photo you can. -----Original Message----- Subject: [Leica] M8 dust > Date: Mon, 12 Jan 2009 10:30:06 +1000 > From: "Geoff Hopkinson" <hoppyman@bigpond.net.au> > Subject: RE: [Leica] M8 Dust > To: "'Leica Users Group'" <lug@leica-users.org> > > Howard, just to continue on your note since this is very on topic. > Are you aware that ACR as well as LR has a synchronisation feature for > consistent dust spots? Hi Geoff, Only vaguely but a similar system is in Nikon's Capture NX2 (dust off) but that only works with NEF. I guess I will have to experiment with the alternatives. Sigh! > You have CS4 now, partly at my urging, I believe. correctomundo. :-) and thank you - it is a great program and I am about 2/3rds of the way through the Lynda tutorial. > If > the subject matter changes then you may need to review the correction > in each frame,(sampling area for correction might not be perfect) > however I would think for your panorama application this would be > ideal. you could be right - but as you mention - each frame is not identical. > > Secondly for me, I am mistrustful of any system that wants to vibrate > the sensor. The Nikon D700, the Oly E3 and the Pana G1 all have antidust systems. The filter in front of the sensor is what vibrates not the sensor itself. Its called a piezoelectric element on the Nikon and supersonic wave filter on the G1 and E3. If the descriptions mean anything then antistatic plus vibrations are applied to the Nikon filter and supersonic vibrations to the E3 and G1filters. I hope such a system shows up in the R10 and the M9 but somehow doubt that they will. We can only wait and see. I am prepared to be proven wrong. > > Significantly, at least for me, Leica's new pro format flagship S2 > product does NOT have sensor shaking. Except for the S2 perhaps the difference is that the digital backs can be taken off and cleaned like the DMR. Although I admit my comments here are beyond my experience and competence. \ Cheers Back Howard > > > > Cheers > Geoff > http://www.pbase.com/hoppyman/e > http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/gh/ > Pick up your camera and make the best photo you can. _______________________________________________ Leica Users Group.
