For some unaccountable reasaon, when I think Poland I think cold. Perhaps
because of the story I heard many years ago about the little girl who lived
with her grandma in a small shtetl - that's village, more accurately
hamlet - near the Russian-Polish border. She came running home from school
one afternoon, raced into the humble house and cried out: "Grandma, grandma!
in school today we heard that they've just signed a treaty and our town is
going to be in Poland on January 1st!"

Grandma replied: "oh, Gott sei danke [thank God!]! I couldn't have stood
another one of those frigid Russian winters!"

Just looked at the longer-term weather forecast. From this coning Wednesday
through next Saturday the air temperature will range between a low of -5 F
( -20 C.) and a high of 15F. ( -9 C.) - temperature will never get about 15F
!!!

I am beginning to consider Orange County CA somewhat more favorably than I
have in past. Wonder if I can get myself admitted to practice law in
California.

Seth
