[Author Prev] [Author Next] [Thread Prev] [Thread Next] [Author Index] [Topic Index] [Home] [Search]Ken that is a very large compliment coming from you. And you get it why I was shooting colour. Very largely not BW light during my all too brief my visit anyway. To share a little of the feeling with you. We were bussing around the valley floor (lots of roads closed) and many views were in fact completely obscured. Then the snow clouds would swirl open briefly. Two hours of tour turned into three hours and a generous tip for the genial and helpful driver who also did 'get it'. I had an idiot grin on my face the entire time. In that soft light shot I was standing in a constant fall, wiping large flakes from my lens and just gobsmacked at the watercolour light in the world's biggest soft box. To share that place with my family was a true gift to me. To see my kids revelling in their very first snow, right outside the Ansel Adams gallery was pretty special too. Did I mention that I bought a wonderful silver print from the Ansel Gallery? My Sam said, Dad I want to come back to this place. I haven't even begun to sort about 1000 shots by Bron and both kids from this trip yet. Don't laugh when I tell you that I have tears in my eyes now, just thinking about that magic place. I seem to have lost your mailing address but send it to me again and I'd be pleased to share some of this cathedral with you. Really makes me wish I was there. Everything is in perfect balance. I have seen jillions of Yosemite photos, but this is the first (to me) successful color image I have seen. You may know that AA did a significant amount of color work (in our reception area I have a book, "Ansel Adams in Color"), but I didn't see anything I liked as well as this. Ken
