That isn't the point. I take out of focus pictures all the time :-)

The point is why would Cannon, a bajillion dollar company uses those photos
to promote their specialty lens? Would pros be impressed? I rather think
not. So once again they are promoting a piece of high end gear to weekend
shooters with deep pockets who would deem these stuff "good enough."

Wow, I am curmudgeony today :-)!
