Mark-O, I couldn't help but smile at this since, as I may already have
posted on the list, way in the distant past I actually did drive an aircraft
carrier, U.S.S. Intrepid, now a museum in New York harbor. I was qualified
as as officer-of-the-deck underway, stood regular watches on the bridge,
usually had the conn during flight operations and refuelling-at-sea and in
fact, my general quarters station was Junior OOD on the bridge. Brings back
memories. Don't know if LUG software strips away attachments but I've
attached a few photos from those days, all taken with a IIIf and either 50/2
Summitar or an ELNY 127/4,5 Wollensak Raptar. My C.O. was actually named Joe
Cool [ne Kuhl]; the foxtrot flag 'two-blocked' (at top of halyard) signals
that flight ops are under way.
