My M8 continued to function perfectly (including battery life) in -5F at the Grand Canyon and below freezing at Yosemite and Red Rock Canyon, using normal care (more than I can say for my body). I put the camera, including battery life inside my coat on occasion to keep the falling snow off. This morning's e-mail brought a warning from the Olympus company about using digital cameras in the cold. "Sub-freezing temperatures can damage a digital camera?particularly the LCD screen. Therefore, a digital camera should not be left in a car in the winter for extended periods of time. This also applies to digital voice recorders, as they have LCD screens." Has anyone ever had a LCD screen permanently damaged by cold weather? Larry Z _______________________________________________ Leica Users Group.
