Now, the initial question was about the R-D1 as a backup for an M8 but like
many topics here, the question never got answered since the "M8 as a backup
for an M8" quip came out. Phil Forrest

Thats why I figured maybe I just should buy the damn thing and play with. I
could always sell it again if I don't like it. As far as the G1 goes, that
electronic VF seems like a turn off. Got to go to B&H tomorrow and check it
out in person,  just to satisfy my curiosity. Thanks
