I work outside every weekday and am constantly astonished at the  
resilience of nature.  Trees I pruned or restored two years ago  
exhibit amazing new growth and foliage.  Our climate here (Seattle  
area) is very similar to much of the southern UK: heavy winds, then  
heavy rain, then clear with frost, then snow and ice.  No comfort  
until late May.

Yet every Winter I see some form of bloom or new growth year round.   
Go figure...
