You set the shutter speed and the aperture gets set automatically. That vs's the much more popular A mode where set the aperture and the shutter speed gets set automatically. This would seem to have to be the one on the M8 as well as the M7. I'm very happy with using this mode. The S I've used three times in my whole life on a good day maybe. The P mode is the camera sets both the aperture and shutter speed Generally you can watch and if you don't like it you can override it up and down so its doing what you want it to do. Its not was if you've lost control of your camera. Its more like you've gained control of your subject as you can think more about your subject. Less about the thing up against your face. M mode is the mode the M6 is in. The M4 is in --- mode. Or G for Gossen hand held mode. mark@rabinergroup.com Mark William Rabiner > From: John Abela <jamriman@gmail.com> > Reply-To: Leica Users Group <lug@leica-users.org> > Date: Wed, 22 Oct 2008 21:21:38 -0400 > To: <lug@leica-users.org> > Subject: [Leica] Upgrade or M8.2 now S mode > > I think we could all agree we could have done without the S mode. > However I'm pissed that we can't get delayed shutter cocking as an > upgrade option! > Sent from my iPod > > _______________________________________________ > Leica Users Group. > See http://leica-users.org/mailman/listinfo/lug for more information
