Using the Snapshot mode, you still focus, you still select the aperture and you still compose the photo. What it does do is select the shutter speed, ISO and white balance for you and provide a jpeg capture setting. That could be useful if you wanted it in some circumstances. I use aperture priority exposure all of the time and meter according to my judgement with that. I have used the new auto ISO feature and it works just fine and I have control of the range it operates in. The delayed cocking mode is a feature that was very widely requested in the (exclusively) Leica camera forum and is being endorsed by people that have the new camera. You can also not use it whenever you want. For people annoyed that Leica has added extra features and requested improvements to the M8.2, you can still purchase the M8 new for less money. You can use either camera as manually as you want or take advantage of the optional functions whenever you choose. Or you can ignore them and make photographs with your film Leica if you want. I wondered when someone would note the "S" Thing.... "S" for Auto-Everything.... The mode for when you, as the aficionado of all things good and superb, have purchased your Leica M8.2 from a recognized Leica Dealer, with 6 lenses ( including putting on order the new Nocti, 21 ASPH Lux, and 50 ASPH Lux), and wish to use your camera without thought of numbers, filters, settings, speeds F-whatevers, ISA's ( or is it ASO's?), and all other things technical..... to diminish your utter joy in owning, and especially showing off your new body jewelry, with price tag attached, of course...... He is told that this Leica will shoot better pictures than a Nikon D40.....or a Canon IS1000. What happened to their installed base, that still may use a Light Meter, uses pale blue-green filters, understand Guide Numbers, may have a darkroom ( what is a darkroom you ask? A place to run PhotoShop, of course)? We are here, and we may shut off the "S" mode...... "S" for Stupid mode Frank Filippone red735i@earthlink.net Ohh yes and for $555 extra, you also get that delayed shutter cocking feature and the useless S thing. _______________________________________________ Leica Users Group.
