The shutter is definitely quieter on the 8.2, but you can have the same shutter installed in a M8.0. I talked to the wife about this after she heard both side by side at Photokina last month, and asked me why even waste the money, as the M8 is quite quiet as it is. I have to agree, now, as I have been shooting with another M8 user today, and the sound is not even noticeable in real life. The noise is mostly heard by the user and most of the time I never even notice. So for me, I'll save some money.
