Rust would have been the smallest issue compared to all those engine and electrical problems. I had seen many SM at the boarder of the road, smoking out of the opened hood, at that time... The collaboration of Citroen (car) and Maserati (engine) was not worked out properly. The engine did not get cooled enough in that stylish, but not much vented SM chassis (that's why the Benz grill you've seen, probably). One was forced to ride it at low speeds only - many SM owners gave up, some exchanged the Maserati for a Citroen CX 2.4 engine... But look at this 2CV - probably the funniest you've ever seen: http://www.2cv4.de/2cv/2cvschmal2008/index.htm Didier At 19:06 09.10.2008, Douglas Sharp wrote: >There used to be a modified Citroen SM in Hannover with a Mercedes radiator >grill - looked rather classy.
