I find the tonal quality of the film to be excellent as well. I have to disagree about the statue though. There is a lot less detail in the statue then the stone walls. The stones immediately above and below the statue are sharp and in front of it's plane. I think it's an optical illusion. It was also shot with a 24mm lens at f8.
