Hi Mark,
I believe the low end for the M8 is 160.

The top range of the nikon auto ISO setting with both my D40x and D200x is
1600.? It does not get into the two stops higher modes you can use over
that. They give it names instead of numbers but it's 3200 or 6400 I would
think.

You can set the high end lower while setting up the auto ISO and I do set it
at 800 for some occasions involving work as the 1600 can show noise if the
shot is lightened later.
Geoff, the range between 100 and 640 I can't imagine not being very useful.
Its less than a half stop less than what I'm used to.

The end result is you only end up using as high an ISO as you need for any
shot you shoot.?

Amazing the amount of shooting you can do at 100 where? you might easily
have it all set at 400, 800, 1600 otherwise.

You are not just guessing high for a group of shots or entire shoot.
