Bob,
I had the same problem scanning Rollei R3 film. I don't think I ever worked
it out on my Nikon 5000. Sorry

Folks -

I'm having a serious problem with my Nikon Coolscan V ED, in that it
simply won't scan this new Rillei ATP 1.1 film. The base seems to be
of quite normal thickness, the strips are flat & square. Any attempt
to load with Nikon Scan 4 results in the strip being pulled all the
way in, at which time a "scanner couldn't load the film" and "A minor
error occured during Preview" or something like that. Any other B&W
material that I use (Neopan and Tmax) scan just fine.

At the suggestion of our friend Hoppy I tried Vuescan, which just
tells me that no film has been loaded (although the strip has been
pulled in to the normal extent.) Nikon tech support hasn't been too
helpful 'cept to say that I can send it in if I want.

This film (with the Spur developer) is the best looking B&W film I've
ever seen, and I really wanna do some scanning before I send the negs
to my printer guy.

Has anyone had any experiences like this??
