Brian is the expert but it depends on whether you are running it all
the time or just occasionally. For occasional use any brand will do.
For 24/7 use (or if you are just paranoid like me), buy your own
enclosure (SATA/FW/USB/whatever) and get a good quality drive. My
current preference is Seagate for 3.5" and 2.5" because my local PC
shop says he has had no problems, Brian said they were good a year or
2 ago AND they have a 3 or 5 year warranty.

Also don't get the biggest drive possible, get a lower capacity one
(currently around 500GB) because it pushes the limit of manufacturing
technology less hard.

BTW, SATA is much FASTER than USB2 or FW400 so if your PC/Mac has
eSATA interface, get an enclosure with eSata interface.

Regards,
Spencer
