Thanks Nathan,

My friend is not after that much of quality and will view on screen or 
print small, 10 x 15 at the largest.

I tried to explain the art of compromise to him, his concessions gear 
towards quality loss in favour multi-tasking and ease of use, as with 
most weekend photogs, me included.
