For some reason Lugers ignore the existence of the 90mm macro-Elmar.
It is very sharp, with it's dedicated close focus attachment can
capture an object as small as 3 inches across, and it's very small.
It's the only lens I use for my flower photography. I have had mine
for two years now. I also have a Viso III with many attachments and
lens heads. I find it most useful with the 65mm Elmar and focus
adapter, but also find it very useful for very close macro shots with
the bellows or telephoto use with the 200mm and 400mm Telyts. And yes
the 50mm DR Summicron works very well on the M8 but it must be
mounted in close up mode. It does not require any modification but as
is cannot be mounted in normal mode.

I can do it all but still prefer the 90mm macro-Elmar for every day
close-ups. And I have never seen when Popflash was out of the lens or
adapter.
