There is also an effect if you use the UV/IR filter. For a 21mm lens the 28 framelines should be called up. The same happens with the 16-18-21 lens. This is needed for the firmware to recognise the lens, even though those frame-lines are not actually used for framing. However the net effect is simply that the lens acts as an un-coded lens and you don't use that firmware correction. In other words it still works fine, you just don't get 6 bit functions. My 21 & 18 are non-Leica and it works the same way. Zeiss have actually now corrected that in current production so that you can have the coding added aftermarket (not by Leica). You cant figure out which finder to use on the hotshoe?
