[Leica] results of June 2008 photo contest

Well thank you to all the judges. Water fitted in to a theme I began to 
explore in UBUD in Bali, where of course there is plenty of water to 
photograph. Helen calls it my UBUD phase ;-) Congrats to all this month. I 
too thought the images were strong.

The judges have finished their work. Many of them said that they thought the 
overall quality of the entries this month was extremely high.

There are 10 judges. 6 of the 10 are members of the LUG; the other 4 are 
not. About half of them are professional photographers. All of them are 
people whose work I admire.

The judges live in Europe, North America, South America, Central Asia, East 
Asia, and AUSNZ.

I have never revealed to anyone, even the judges themselves, who the judges 
are. The only person who can see individual ratings from the judges is me, 
and even I can't tell which scores come from which judge. The judges cannot 
find out how other judges have rated an image, or who the other judges are.

Keep that in mind when you read this month's results:

First prize: Alastair Firkin
Second prize: Chris Williams
Third prize: Alastair Firkin

Honourable mentions: Howard Cummer, Douglas Sharp, Douglas Sharp
