I'm not sure that the first one benefits from the wide angle perspective. Specifically the distortion of the church building. Are these straightened in post processing too? Your verticals are... but the distortion of course is still there. The second works best for me. I know that painterly has been said before. In the third, the detail presented in the foreground is not what I really want my eye to be drawn to (weed and drains). I'm with you on the idea of the path leading into the shot, especially the angle changing. Really nice lines against the sky.
