Hey Jims,
I thought Live View was available on the 510?
 For landscapes and non moving objects - i.e. the type of shots you've 
shown us - this is what you need to use - LV magnification mode on for 
flowers for instance, too.
You can even keep your sunglasses on when it is too bright :-D .
