Mine came with a specialist double-ended pen of Japanese origin. One thin
end that fits in the holes and a thicker end to increase the markings after
the template is removed. It still came off immediately no matter what
strategy I tried. The metal was degreased first too. My template did not
even align properly on a factory original coded lens so that may have
contributed to the unreliability.
