Hi Leo,

I don't know about anybody else's Noctilux but at the 8 ft test
distance at f1.0, on the MP or M7, it is barely in focus with only
1/2" DOF in the front and 4" behind. But even in the out of focus
area there is detail to where in looking at a photo you would just
say the Noctilux is "soft" wide open. And leave it at that. With the
high resolution of the M8 the out of focus area is much more
noticeable. At f2.0, because of the focus shift, on film it back
focuses to where it is out of focus by nearly an inch. I think the
shim will help this lens on a film camera as well as the M8. We'll
see when I get it back. I still shoot film with my M's.

Len
