Hi Brian,

Close but not quite an oxymoron. It's 18 months old which is about 3.5  
years in dog years. :) I use the MacBook for S/W development and it  
gets heavily exercised for that and other things. I expect my laptops  
to last about 36 months as a primary machine (if I am lucky).

After all, it is on it's 3rd HD (keep on running out space storing  
images), 2nd LCD and now the slot drive is a bit flakey.

Laptops just get more abuse than desktops...
