Well, here's the *pre-asph* 50/1.4 Summilux (on an MP)

and here's the *asph* 50/1.4 Summilux (on an M8)

As long as I'm shooting silver halide B&W film, I'd be hard pressed to be
able to tell which was which. The asph model certainly seems to be in focus
when my M8 is telling me that it's in focus.

I could do well with any one of them.
