I might say that number one is more gently lit/exposed, however I stick with my first choice. Maybe a quibble with them that the highlight on granpa's head is blown as I see it here. Can you extract any detail there and burn in a little maybe? BTW that lens is gorgeous on the M8, but then you knew that.
