I've used the channel mixer for my conversions for a long time. The rgb 
mixing methods Alien Skin uses  seems to be'  the way I was taught to 
use PS. My biggest complain about PS and converting is the lack of 
substance if noise or grain isn't added. There *are* times I do miss my 
Focomat :-)
