I'd certainly want a Noctilux because there's lots of relatively dim
spaces inside a submarine even though it's well lit. There's typically
not more than 6-8 feet of free space (except down a passageway or in
places where even the remote possibility of taking photos would be a
severe no-no) so really controlling depth of field is something to
work with all the time.

I'd kill, or at least do serious bodily injury, for the chance to work
underway, again. I loved my time on the boats although the work hours
were killers. I got to walk through the JIMMY CARTER at commissioning
- an amazing experience - as far beyond my nuke of the early 70s as we
were beyond the WWII boats.
