Great textures and detail in the wall and shingles as Mark said.
Not too hard to mask the cats and control the contrast differently for that 
selection, as long as there is some original tone to
extract.
Not so easy to meter for in the first place, I'm sure. In fact the classic 
example as a challenge with black and white cats in the
sunlight!

By the way, my dogs saw the picture and have gone to the garden shed to drag 
out the ladder.

The Tiger kitty seems to say "why is there no detail in my white fur?" the
black kitty says "why is there no detail in my black fur?"
Which you really notice in the blow up.

But enjoyed looking at this shot.

Such nice texture in the fence I know its hard not to jack up the contrast.
But then you loose the kitties.

That black kitty looks like she's under age. Under one.
