Asunto: [Leica] Specific question about Focomat iia and Focotar

Well, a nice Focomat IIA dropped into my lap in original mid 1950's
condition, (if I never use it I will always enjoy looking at it.) The
Focomat has the original Elmar 5cm/3.5 Fooly. Literature suggests that the
turret will also accept the Focotar lens as well but this is not clear
concerning the later versions, so my question is :

Will all the Focotar 50/4.5 versions fit into the slim lens turret of a IIA
Focomat??

All empirical knowledge welcome regarding this important question. I've
combed the archives, all my books, the internet, etc., yet have not been
able to answer this question. There is another question which will solve
this problem as well:

Are the lens turrets on a Focomat IIc the same as the IIa?? If they are
then the answer to the previous question is yes.

Thanks,

Chris Saganich
