With all respect, zero, as I have resisted all of
the Ken Burns Mania for the past decade and
more. I was finally forced to watch his rather
inane Civil War series around 1998 by my son, and
I found it, well, inane and ill-informed. As a
result, I missed his Baseball Series, which some
wiser souls advise me is worth watching.

This WWII thingie of his seems the ultimate
repudiation of the World War II generation by
making it all really "feel good" stuff about how
the sacrifices of the Home Front were every bit
as hard as were those of the doggies. NPR has
been trumpeting it so heavily that I am nauseated by the coverage.

The really neat part is that this Leftist nut,
Ken Burns, got nailed by Leftist Hispanics for
leaving out the contribution to the War effort by
the US citizens of Spanish heritage. It is nice
to see a rather shallow person hanged by his own
kind. Sort of like the Soviet Trials in 1936. A
system based on a logical error is bound to
self-destruct, and such occurred here.

No, I shall miss this Most Wonderful Explanation
of How We All Worked Together To Make Victory
Real. This was not the case and the US was never
united and individual liberties were suppressed
in opposing the War. Ken Burns will not speak to that.

So, pray, you guys go on gooing over it, but it
is bunkum, from start to finish. Hokum of only the sort PBS can generate.

Have a nice day, wonderful people! <he grins>
