You should once see the 24h motorcycle race in Le Mans. Ten thousands of 
bikers are camping there, making a sleepless party and drinking a lot (and 
not only Pernod) all weekend long. After the race finishes at sunday 
afternoon, they all race at home like mad dogs. Every year serious accidents 
happen even if the police makes rigid controls. Some years ago an english 
biker, drunken like a sailor after his first shore leave, made a full 
throttle start with his tuned superbike. Alas, on the wrong side of the road 
as he had forgotten being on the continent. He paid with his life.
