LANCASHIRE!!!!, Jerry - shame on you :-)
Lancashire is west of the Pennine Range and thankfully caught all the
rain that was heading east towards where we spent our vacation :-)

Whitby is of course in the fair County of Yorkshire, though indeed it is
just North of RHB .

Actually Ian Carmichael (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ian_Carmichael )
lives there, it's also where Arthur Brown (Crazy World of Arthur Brown
- greatest hit "Fire") comes from too, Captain Cook was an apprentice
there, his ships Endeavour et al where built there, the story of Dracula
begins there (we always take a self-catering holiday apartment at the
top of the house where Bram Stoker lived) and Lewis Carrol (Alice in
Wonderland) often stayed there too. It was also sometimes home to the
"Railway King" George Hudson before (and some time after) he had been
run out of the country and fled to France.
Cheers
Douglas
