To me that is enormous amount for cameras-- all my camera stuff (which was bought used) combined isn't worth half of that. But I have to tell you, if I somehow could scrape up that kind of money for an M8, I'd be thoroughly hacked-off if I experienced any of the UV and mechanical problems that have been reported here. I would return it to Leica, demand a refund and not look back until the quality comes up and/or the price down.
