Well -- I thought I had a updated M8 until I loaded the rest of my first
real night time excusion shots with a Noctilux.
Lots of banding and noisy 'stuck' pixels.
Worst case scenario - Noct wideopen, ISO 2500

Is my diagnosis correct?
I pumped up the exposure to show the defects. These are not 'pretty' shots:
