Wow, that is pretty scrace today, finding an experienced analog HW engineers is something similar to an avid film shooter among today's digital crowd.. :-) Analog HW design may considered as kind of art and requires a good gut feeling about it, while digital is more strict technical approach. Being mainly in digital HW for my 7 years EE carrier, I have a great respect and appreciation to those folks who read analog by heart. I conducted few small analog designs throught my carrier, but those were rare occasions and were a simple things required mostly to aid in validation of mixed digital/analog chips. As about resistor/capacitor - I used to work in mixed HW/embedded SW environment and there were a good habits ot developing a mutual SW/HW-related jokes. SW people (who tend to work in close cooperation with system hardware people) used to believe any system HW issue can be resolved by either resistor, capacitor or both... ;-) , that was kind of joke...(no matter digital or analog....)
