Maybe the Brits are just still pissed about armed farmers and shopkeepers 
kicking them out of the country way back when.....or forgot about the time 
the USA shipped tons of sporting arms of all sorts for civilians to defend 
themselves against an expected Nazi invasion at the inception of WWII.
