That's because there still is a big company car culture over here: only untill very recently the ruling was such that both employer and employee were benefiting of giving or getting a company car. Now, it's becoming less interesting for the employers, but since there are a lot of self employed folks over here (because of better taxes) that doesn't change much: for them, a car, no matter how big it is, is tax deductible, as are fuel costs.
