I personally really don't > like it. I have to say I'm most immediately drawn to http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/phorlent/_POR0867.JPG.html ...the semicircle formed by the boy's back and neck opposes and fit into the semicircle suggested by the bow; the arrow's expected path projects out of the latter; there's enough space to the right to mentally allow the arrow to fly; the boy's face and hair seem to be in sharpest focus, which I think works. My only issue is that the whole thing seems really light (especially the shirt and face), but that may be entirely appropriate for a white shirt, pale boy and white sand. As for http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/phorlent/_POR0869.jpg.html , I see a lot of interesting intersecting lines in different planes, as provided by sticks and human limbs, and the overall masses aren't unpleasing; in fact there are ways in which this photo is definitely more interesting than the one above, so I may be seeing your point... ...but when you look closer at the larger version of the picture, having the background grasses in sharpest focus ends up ruining it for me: they keep pulling my eye where it doesn't want to be for that much of the time. -Jeff M
