[Leica] m6 base plate question

I have an M6 with motorbase (a lovely thing to hold in my large hands).
It on permanent loan from a good friend (I didn't count in my big 4 list
earlier!)

question: I don't have the original m6 base plate.

1) Where is the best place to find a base plate? (other than ebay)
2) will pre m6 base plates work?
3) what is a typical price for this part?
