Layers are good. Doug says you may get showers so stay away from cotton and 
down. Wool and synthetics are much better when moist. You can wear most of 
your cloths in your bag at night to stay warmer. Lots of fluids and try to 
stuff down a lot of easily digestible foods in the evening even if you have 
some nausea from the altitude. 

Re the sun, in addition to sunscreen, lipsil for the lips, sunglasses (of 
course), side shields on the glasses are good (you can make these out of 
cardboard), hat, long sleeves etc.

Pack light. Some people like to hike slow and steady, others fast with lots 
of rests, whichever you prefer.
