You guys were making me nervous with all this talk about backing up your
work. That's because I know deep down that I've been very cavalier about
backing up, even though I have a decent outboard HDD and Retrospect. And
then I finally admitted to myself that Retrospect was part of the problem,
since I never could quite master it and so put off backing up my files.
Then the inevitable happened -- internal HD went bad -- but at least I had
made a backup CD that wasn't *too* far out of date and so managed to
retrieve the bulk of my stuff. So finally, I went looking for some
easy-to-use backup freeware online and came up with a program called
FreeByte Backup, which I promptly installed and ran. So now I'm all backed
up and can sleep again.

So thanks, gang. Guess I'm a FreeByte kind of guy.
