I was amused to come across what claimed to be a 1TB, ie 1000 GB, drive
offered
in my local store the other day, the first time that I have seen a retail
offering at that size. Yes I know that they have been around for a while from
larger shops but this isn't a shop that normally sells specialised kit.

It's amazing what the driver to make what was specialist storage until
recently
into high street commodity. I don't think that we would realistically have
predicted it a decade ago.

Anyway it was a dual disk enclosure claiming to be RAID 1 which suggests
that it
was probably only two largish disks with an aggregate 1TB, not 2 x 1TB drives
mirroring. Price around GBP 375.
