It will read the DMR .dng's but not the M8 .dng's. Those first have to be either converted to jpgs or run through ACR. For getting a quick image in the email it can't be beat. Any comments? ================================================== I've been using Picasa on a PC since it was released and have been using the web album since it first came out. I've never had the problem Jeff described on any of the 4 machines I've used it on, so I can't comment on that particular issue. I think Picasa is great for low-power users and their web album can't be beat, IMO. You use Picasa to edit (non-destructively) and then with one click you can post one or more images to Picasa Web, email them, collage them, print them, resize them, burn a CD, etc. All the edits can be stepped back in history palette fashion til you get back to the original. Also handles RAW for many brands. But the edits are limited in scope and it's no competition for PS in any sense. To see the web album at its best, find a gallery you like and view it as a slide show in full screen mode. If you don't have a fave, look at mine: http://picasaweb.google.com/paswango/Samsung. Picasa Web is the easiest web gallery I've ever used and has the cleanest look. And be sure to check out that slide show thing. At full screen. -- Phil Swango 307 Aliso Dr SE Albuquerque, NM 87108 505-262-4085 _______________________________________________ Leica Users Group.
